Brent L. Paris

Founder & Chairman


Brent has over 20 years of experience advising and growing middle market businesses. Brent has over 12 years of private equity experience, including as a Partner with Dubin Clark & Company, a middle market private equity firm in Greenwich, CT. Brent was primarily involved with new business activity – sourcing, execution and closing standalone and add-on acquisitions, as well as supporting current portfolio companies. Previously, he was an Associate at Latek Capital Corporation, a middle market investment banking firm. During business school, Brent worked as an Analyst with money management firms Waveland Capital Management and Brinson Partners. Brent has a CPA and served as an Accounting Manager at fund-of-funds firm Grosvenor Capital Management and as a Senior Tax Accountant for Altschuler, Melvoin & Glasser, a large regional public accounting firm in Chicago.

Brent received a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University School of Business and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Brent is a CPA. Brent currently serves on the board of the North Florida chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and formerly served as a Director of ACG International and ACG Connecticut. Brent currently serves on the board of Signature Fencing & Flooring LLC.

James R. Evanger

Managing Director


Jim has over twenty (22) years of strategic leadership experience and is an accomplished executive with multi-industry success in both Fortune 100 and entrepreneurial start-up companies. Jim has most recently led a health care rehabilitation company as President, after co-founding a real estate services firm focused on turnaround strategies for complex, distressed assets. Previously, he built an independent retail and commercial furnishings & sourcing company from conceptual stage to a multi-million dollar company with five divisions and over 250 employees. Jim has significant experience in the health care, medical products, and biopharmaceutical industries as an executive at STERIS Corporation, Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Merck & Co., Inc.

Jim has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and an M.B.A. from Northern Illinois University. He is active in the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and volunteers his time with SCORE to help aspiring entrepreneurs realize their dream of business ownership.

Mark W. Pasterik

Managing Director


Mark has over twenty-four (24) years of operational, logistics and business development experience and over ten (10) years of acquisition experience. Mark joined PVB Capital due to his experience and interest in the event industry. Prior to joining PVB Capital, Mark managed eleven acquisitions for Classic Party Rentals, including target identification, negotiation, due diligence and financial modeling. Mark has strong operations experience due to his tenure at RR Donnelley. At RR Donnelley, Mark managed a profitable $60 million business and managed a 250 person logistics division. Mark began his career at BP/Amoco, responsible for business development and acquisitions in various divisions.

Mark received a B.A. from Northern Illinois University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Mark is a CPA.

Sandra Kelk Paris

Managing Director, Marketing & Operations


Sandra joined PVB Capital in 2007 as Managing Partner, Marketing and Operations. Sandra’s core experience is in consumer packaged goods product management, market research, strategy, process improvement, and operations. Sandra has experience growing existing brands as well as new product launches. Sandra’s experience includes Five Points Consulting, Greenfield Online (Toluna), Information Resources (SymphonyIRI), Sara Lee Bakery and Kimberly-Clark.

Sandra received a B.S. in Business Administration, cum laude, from Bucknell University and an M.B.A. from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Laura Padden

Research Associate


Laura joined PVB Capital in 2010 as a research associate. Previously, Laura was an account executive with First Data Corporation where she was responsible for account development and implementation for new credit card and electronic check processing accounts. Prior to First Data, Laura was an associate agent for Nationwide Insurance. Laura graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in health care administration.

Bernie Andrews

Bernie Andrews is the retired Chairman and CEO of Eye Care Centers of America. Bernie was also President and Chief Operating Officer and Director of Montgomery Ward-Retail. He was Executive Vice President of Store Operations and Marketing of Circuit City Stores, Inc. Bernie also spent twenty years with Sears, Roebuck & Co. in a number of field and headquarters merchandising, marketing and operating positions. Bernie currently serves as the Director of Parago, Sentient Medical Systems and B&M Racing. Bernie is a graduate of Marshall University.

Allan Loren

Allan Loren is the former Chairman and CEO of D&B (formerly Dun & Bradstreet). He was Executive Vice President and CIO for American Express and President and CEO of Galileo International. Allan was also the President of Apple Computer U.S.A. and CIO of CIGNA. He is a Board Member of Fair Isasc Corporation (NYSE: FIC) and Signature Fencing and Flooring LLC. Allan previously served on the Boards of Directors of Hershey Foods, Reynolds and Reynolds and Venator Group, a predecessor to Foot Locker, Inc. Allan completed the Executive Management Program at Stanford University as well as graduate work in math and statistics at American University. Allan holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Queens College in New York.
